The BMW 5 Series Security is excellently equipped to fend off such attacks since the entire passenger cell is armoured and fulfils the requirements of ballistic protection level VR4 (BRV 1999). This means that the BMW 5 Series Security can resist attacks with impact weapons, such as baseball bats and handguns up to a calibre of .44 Magnum including .357 Magnum and 9 mm Luger.
