Security while driving depends largely on the driver. And at BMW, the driver has always been at the centre of our thinking. The slight angling of the centre console towards the steering wheel was a distinctive design feature of the very first BMW 7 Series. In the new BMW 7 Series High Security, it’s symbolic of how the whole cockpit is built around the driver.

A wealth of innovations ensures drivers can see exactly what is going around them at all times, and react instantaneously when necessary. Only BMW includes functional bookmarks – user-programmable favourite buttons that drivers can use to summon help or display the quickest route home at the touch of a button – as standard. The innovative iDrive control system can also be used to operate security equipment such as warning lights, sirens and a two-way radio. And the optional BMW Night Vision system redefines what it means to keep an eye on the road. With its long-distance infrared technology, it can pick out people on the carriageway in poor visibility or at night at a range of up to 300 metres.
